    Brief version of Olea Nel's biography

    Dr. Olea Nel was born in Cape Town, South Africa. After completing her training as a teacher in Andrew Murray's heartland of Wellington, she relocated to Australia to further her studies. Besides attaining a PhD. in Linguistics, she also has qualifications in Information Studies and Theology.

     

    Olea has had a varied professional career teaching at a range of tertiary institutions including the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology, Chisholm Institute of Technology and Canberra University. After obtaining a post-graduate qualification in Information Studies, she joined the National Library of Australia in 1987 where her career spanned 15 years.

     

    Olea has been a dedicated Christian since the age of five. She is married to Peter, an ordained minister who has served Christ for over 40 years.

     

    Although happily retired for several years now, she is still eager to pursue her passion for research in church history and biography. She has completed a trilogy on Andrew Murray's ministry years in Bloemfontein, as well as a fourth, stand-alone novel on his spiritual journey while ministering in Worcester, Cape Town, and Wellington. It is titled Andrew Murray: From Spark to Flame, and is due to be published sometime in 2021.
